Overview of BioBreak
BioBreak is energizing lifesciences! The BioBreak Organization is a non-profit organization started in the summer of 2006 with the goal of bringing together senior executives from across the biotech, pharma, medtech, diagnostics and venture capital industries. These decision-makers come from a diverse cross-section of functions and backgrounds. We bring these leaders together at informal events where members can establish relationships, find new business partners, and share best practices. Our members span four regions in US with Philadelphia, New Jersey, Boston and San Francisco and in Europe, and include every major pharmaceutical and biotechnology company in this geography. We currently have over 4,000 members and hold a BioBreak event multiple times per year per region (number of events depends on the region). We serve complimentary appetizers and an open bar for our members courtesy of our sponsors. Membership is free for eligible individuals.
Founding and History
The BioBreak Organization was started in Philadelphia by Geoff Meyerson and Patrick Lee when they identified the need for a content-free networking opportunity for senior executives. When attending other industry events they realized that most attendees were service providers who aggressively pursued the few industry participants. Requiring all service providers to sponsor the organization to attend and maintaining strict membership criteria maintain the value of the events for the attendees.
Board of Directors
The organization is led by a board of executives who help organize the events in each region.
